Coming to a service for the first time can be daunting, but we hope that you will feel welcome to come along and we are here to support you. If you would like to arrange for a Welcomer to meet you on your first visit, just let us know using the Contact button at the top of this page.
Some of our services are live-streamed on Facebook and Youtube and you might like to take a look to give you an idea of what to expect. We have a range of services during a normal week which you are welcome to attend, and you can find out more about them below.
Family Eucharist - Sundays, 10am
Our Sunday morning services are for everyone! Junior Church meets during the first part of the service, whilst the rest of the congregation sing, pray, hear readings, and ponder the sermon. We then come together to celebrate the Eucharist. Our service is followed by refreshments and a time of fellowship. This service lasts around 90 minutes and is usually live-streamed.
Junior Church - Sundays, 10am
Children are welcome to stay during our services but school-age children might like to join our Junior Church. We meet in the main service and leave for time together in the choir vestry (a room at the back of the church building). Junior Church spend time getting to know the stories of Jesus and often use craft activities to explore what those stories mean for us. We rejoin the main service as Holy Communion is being given out. Visiting children are always welcome to join us.
All-Age Service - Sundays, 10am
Occasionally, we have an All-Age service, which differs from our Family Eucharist in that Junior Church stays with the main congregation throughout the service. After our bible readings, we hear a short talk exploring the bible message, or what it means to be a Christian. This service takes about an hour, is also live-streamed, and is followed by refreshments and a chance to catch up with one another.
Little Fishes - Mondays, Term time, 10am, Parish Rooms
Our toddler group meets in the Parish Rooms on the corner of Park Avenue North and Ashburnham Road during term time for crafts, play, refreshments and singing. We ask for a small donation to cover costs, and due to popular demand have had to limit numbers. To find out more and to book, please contact our Children and Youth Misioner, Cathy at children@abingtonchurch.org.uk.
Reflective Service - Thursdays, 10am, First Sunday of the Month, 8.15am
A quiet service, lasting about 30 minutes, with time to be still, to reflect, to pray, and to hear scripture and celebrate the Eucharist. The service is usually held in the Chancel, with the congregation gathering in the choir stalls. Our Thursday service is followed by refreshments and time to be with one another.
Forest Church
Occasionally, we meet on an afternoon in Abington Park, to enjoy exploring the world God has created, and wondering at our place within it. Look out for Forest Church events on our calendar or contact us to find out when the next session is.
