Abington Church Choir

Abington church has a mixed choir of up to 30 members who sing at the 10am service every Sunday morning, at Choral Evensong (held approximately monthly) and for additional services at Festivals and other special times of the year.  The choir is available to sing at weddings.

Choir Practice takes place on Thursday evenings throughout the year (except for August).  The Junior Choir meets at 6.45pm and the adults from 7.30pm, with a 15-20-minute overlap.  Short practices are also held in the vestry before each service.  Click here for the Choir Diary.

There is no better way to improve your musical knowledge and your singing voice than to join a church choir and you will find us to be a very friendly and welcoming group of people.

The choir is affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music and follows the RSCM Voice for Life training scheme and as a result we have 4 Gold/St Cecilia Award holders, a further 12 with the Silver (Bishop’s) Award and several Bronze (Dean’s).

Each October the choir takes part in the annual Diocesan Choral Festival at our home cathedral at Peterborough.  We have also visited cathedrals to sing Choral Evensong during their choir holidays.

If you are interested in joining us, come along and meet us on a Thursday evening or after the morning service on a Sunday (this finishes at about 11am).  Alternatively, contact me for a no obligation” discussion.
