Five members of our church Mother's Union went to the Peterborough Diocesan Festival at Peterborough Cathedral on Saturday 22 September, along with a contingent of some 40 MU members from other Northampton churches.
The event is held every three years, bringing together members from the 70 groups and nearly 1,500 members across the Peterborough Diocese.  However, in total, there are 4 million members of Mother's Union across 84 countries of the world.
Although MU started out by founder Mary Sumner in 1876, as a Christian group to support mothers and this still remains at the core of their work but, you don't have to have children, be a woman or a churchgoer to support the organisation. If you are interested in finding out more about Mothers' Union, please check out the national website, www.mothersunion.org, which has recently been updated and gives lots of information about the organisations aims, projects and programmes.  Jeanette holding our branch banner, with accompanied by Pam A, Pam C Jackie and Caroline.
