Weddings

What are you looking for as you get ready to celebrate your Wedding day? Where do you to be, when you make promises to the person who will be your partner in life?

Although we might be just a bit biased, Abington Church is a wonderful place to choose for your wedding ceremony. The church building looks like a classic village church, although it’s in Northampton and only across the road from Abington Park. Up to 200 people can be seated in the pews. The upstairs balcony section is perfect for a bird’s eye view of the ceremony, and a favourite spot for wedding photographers.

As part of your wedding preparations, you’ll meet several times with one of our ministers. You’ll be helped to think about what marriage means, and how the wedding service helps to express your love and commitment to each other.

In the run up to the wedding, you’ll be invited to come to church to hear the reading out of your banns. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet people who will pray for you as you prepare to enter married life.

As the Bible tells us, 'Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.'  (1 John 4: 7  NRSV Bible) Getting married in church also means drawing upon that faithful love of God, who is there for you on your wedding day and beyond.

We’d love to talk to you about getting married in our church. You can get married here if you live in the local area, or if you have some other connection which qualifies you.
